Our History

We were founded in the 1960’s. Over the years, the conventional accounting aspect of the firm grew and also a need for a specialized service, what we call “tax trouble”, became prevalent in the early 1990’s. Lawrence Levy formed a firm, Levy & Associates, Inc., in the 1990’s that represented taxpayers (both corporate and personal) with the IRS and State of Michigan regarding their delinquent tax liabilities and filings. Levy & Associates, Inc. expanded its services to the east coast of Florida in 2002. As the business continued to grow, Lawrence decided to expand the business to offer tax resolution services on a national scale.

In addition to the “tax trouble” side of the business, we offer the conventional tax preparation (corporate and personal), bookkeeping/accounting/, and payroll services through our sister company, Levy Tax Professionals, Inc. Due to our ability to offer both IRS and State representation while at the same time, having a staff of CPA’s in house that will prepare all tax related forms, our firm keeps every aspect of your tax needs under one roof.

Our staff consists of attorneys, CPAs, former IRS revenue officers, accountants, tax consultants and a tremendous support/secretarial staff. Due to the nature of our clientele, our firm is capable of solving tax issues arising from almost every imaginable scenario. However, it should be noted that we do not represent clients with any criminal tax matters whatsoever. Based on our strict guidelines and ability to bring clients into compliance with filings and the tax due amounts, we have been able to achieve many successes for our personal and corporate clients. The vast majority of clients that initially come to us to resolve their IRS and State tax matters, remain clients for life – and simply are converted to the conventional arm of the business. However, in certain cases, we will have a client referred to us by another CPA or Accountant that does not specialize in this tax arena. We will resolve the client’s situation, and pass the client back to the referral source with a clean bill of health.

It is important to also note that our firm prides itself on the personalized service we offer to each and every client. We make ourselves available to our clients literally 7 days per week. Because we do not charge hourly and encourage our clients to become informed and remain informed, we welcome the telephone calls and e-mails and are happy to respond timely. Not only does this sort of interaction ease clients minds and allow for them to sleep better at night, the regular contact often times alleviates the panic mode which is typically present before we are retained.
